As part of our efforts to activate and celebrate Pittsburgh\u2019s riverfronts, Riverlife will launch public programming on an outdoor platform on the rivers in 2025, providing world-class on-the-water experiences for residents, visitors, and workers. The platform will operate seasonally, from May through October, and will include public programming,\u00a0 food and beverage concessions, art exhibits, and other activities. The Seasonal Riverfront Facilities Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating activities on the platform, engaging with the public, and working closely with vendors, contractors, and partner organizations to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operations. This is a seasonal, full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours\/week during the season and reporting to the Riverfront Operations Manager.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nKey Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n\n- Oversee routine operations on the outdoor riverfront platform, including:<\/span>\n
\n- Serve as the primary point person with vendors, managing relationships, supporting operations, and problem solving as needed;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ensure compliance with safety and security standards and regulations, including obtaining any required trainings, certifications and clearances;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Work with vendors to monitor and manage occupancy, limiting access and communicating closures as necessary;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ensure all operations are carried out in accordance with the Operations and Safety Manual;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Respond to emergency situations as needed;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Work with vendors to ensure that cleaning protocols are followed. Keep all Riverlife furniture and equipment in good condition and report any issues;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Coordinate with contractors providing services and oversee deliveries;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Coordinate and oversee trash removal;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Monitor overall facility conditions and safety and report any issues or concerns.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications and the Programming Coordinator to oversee special events, including:<\/span>\n
\n- Coordinate and oversee special events to ensure smooth and safe operations;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Work with event producers and staff to coordinate load-in, set up, and load-out as necessary;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Notify vendors of and coordinate around special events.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Contribute to the ongoing development of platform operations by collaborating with staff, vendors, and producers, suggesting new ideas for future programming and proposing solutions to any operational challenges.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Assist with the marketing and promotion of programming and events as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Other related duties as assigned.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Preferred Experience & Abilities:<\/b><\/p>\n\n- 1-3 years of professional experience in event\/facilities management and supervision.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Professional experience with contractor selection, coordination, and evaluation.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- First aid and CPR certifications a plus.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Park management experience a plus.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Venue and event security experience a plus.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a broad and diverse constituency.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Strong administration and project management skills.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ability to exercise sound judgment concerning maintenance needs and project challenges.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Positive and professional attitude; strong work ethic.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, non-profit environment.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend significant time on feet, setting up and breaking down supplies and equipment and moving them in and out of storage.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Compensation Details:<\/b><\/p>\n
This is a seasonal, full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Riverfront Operations Manager. Riverlife seeks to be an employer of choice, and offers the following salary & benefits:<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Hourly rate: $25-28\/hour<\/span><\/li>\n
