Learn more at <span class=\"s2\">RiverlifePGH.org<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Job Description:\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p2\">The Development Internship at Riverlife will provide practical hands-on training and experience while assisting Riverlife in achieving long-term objectives. The Development Intern is a member of Riverlife\u2019s development department. The Intern will gain experience in organizational management and fundraising practices applicable throughout the nonprofit sector, assist in planning special events, and play a key role in implementation of Riverlife\u2019s development and donor relations plan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">This is a part-time, seasonal internship requiring 20 hours per week between May &#8211; August 2024 reporting to the Director of Development. A flexible, hybrid work environment is available, with some work taking place remotely and some required in-person hours taking place at the Riverlife offices.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Key Responsibilities and Qualifications include:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Fundraising Operations <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\">Support data management projects that ensure optimal health of Riverlife\u2019s Salesforce database<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Conduct prospect research on prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Conduct research on best practices and trends in fundraising and donor communications<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Assist staff in developing and updating content for donor communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Special Events <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p5\">Support development staff in planning and executing Riverlife\u2019s Party at the Pier, its largest fundraising event, on Friday, August 23, 2024 (attendance at Party at the Pier is mandatory)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p5\">Support development staff in executing Completing the Loop campaign awareness events of varying sizes<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Assist in additional community programs and riverfront activation programming, as needed, including pop-up events, community festivals, public art initiatives, and other activities to make Pittsburgh\u2019s riverfronts cleaner, safer and more fun for everyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Administration <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p6\">Attend required meetings; assist with note taking and preparing materials for reports<\/li>\n<li class=\"p6\">Maintain organizational records, files, and databases.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Assist other staff members with day-to-day office administration as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><i>Other related duties as assigned. <\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Experience &amp; Abilities: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p7\">Demonstrated interest in Riverlife\u2019s mission<\/li>\n<li class=\"p8\">Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing<\/li>\n<li class=\"p8\">Ability to manage multiple projects and disciplines simultaneously<\/li>\n<li class=\"p8\">Positive and professional attitude; strong work ethic; excellent interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li class=\"p9\">Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, non-profit environment<\/li>\n<li class=\"p7\">Fluency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Suite<\/li>\n<li class=\"p7\">Experience working with a CRM system or Salesforce a plus<\/li>\n<li class=\"p7\">Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a plus<\/li>\n<li class=\"p7\">Familiarity with WordPress or similar website content management systems a plus<\/li>\n<li class=\"p10\">Light physical activity, including some lifting of items up to 25 lbs. may be requested<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Compensation Details:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This is a part-time, seasonal internship and reports to the Director of Development.
