The virtual session on Thursday, December 15th is in addition to the in-person events held last week.<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Riverlife, the nonprofit stewarding a community-driven vision to create accessible, fun, and welcoming riverfronts for all Pittsburghers and visitors, invites the public to attend a virtual discussion<\/strong> about its vision for the restoration of the beloved riverfront park.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The virtual session will be held via Zoom on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm for anyone who was not able to attend the in-person events.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hosted jointly by Riverlife, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, this public session is in addition to the open workshop held last week at the Byham Theater. <\/span>The partnering organizations are looking for the community to share their desires for the park\u2019s design and how the space should be utilized, while also prioritizing safety concerns and accessibility.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe received a lot of useful information and feedback in the in-person sessions that will help inform the design of the park as we move forward,\u201d said Matt Galluzzo, Riverlife president and CEO. \u201cIt is intentional that we are so heavily involving the public, to ensure a park that is inclusive, welcoming, and safe for Pittsburghers and visitors.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After two decades of heavy use, the park is in dire need of restoration to improve accessibility <\/span>and provide a world-class experience for residents and visitors while honoring the incredible <\/span>history of this prominent riverfront feature. Riverlife, the City of Pittsburgh, and DCNR are <\/span>working hand-in-hand on the critical rehabilitation project.<\/span><\/p>\n
