The full park renovation included expansion of Ruby Amphitheater, revitalization of Walnut Street Landing, a realigned riverfront trail and a new picnic plaza.<\/p>\n

Starting in 2016, Riverlife<\/strong> teamed up with the Northern West Virginia Brownfields Assistance Center<\/strong><\/a> as part of our River Towns program<\/a> to provide riverfront planning tools to Mon River Valley towns. Riverlife and the Center toured waterfront sites, hosted community feedback workshops and reviewed existing redevelopment plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Funding for Riverlife’s River Towns program was generously provided by Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation<\/strong><\/a>. The investment from the foundation has allowed Riverlife share successful riverfront improvement models to Mon River communities.<\/p>\n

We congratulate our Mon Valley neighbors and the City of Morgantown, West Virginia<\/a><\/strong> on the opening. The park will provide additional recreational connections and amenities to the Monongahela riverfront.<\/p>\n
