The lagoon will transition to a skating rink during the winter months.<\/p>\n<p>The lagoon joins a host of other elements already announced for the Esplanade project, including a Ferris wheel, museum of &#8220;Pittsburgh firsts,&#8221; hotel, restaurants and residential units. The project is planned for the 15-acre former location of J. Allan Steel downriver of Rivers Casino and the West End Bridge.
