FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: PITTSBURGH \u2013Riverlife, the nonprofit organization working to reclaim, restore and promote Pittsburgh\u2019s riverfronts, is pleased to announce the promotion of Stephan Bontrager<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(image, above)<\/em> to Vice President, Communications and Outreach.<\/strong><\/p>\n Mr. Bontrager joined the Riverlife staff in 2009 as Director of Communications. As VP, Communications and Outreach, he will oversee the organization\u2019s public messaging, branding, marketing, media relations, community engagement, and special events. He also works closely with the Riverlife board of directors to organize the agenda and activities of the Riverlife Communications Committee.<\/p>\n During his time at Riverlife, Mr. Bontrager produced the 2013 grand reopening celebration for the $40 million renovation of Point State Park and its signature fountain, as well as celebrations and media coverage for Riverlife projects at South Shore Riverfront Park, the Mon Wharf Landing, Allegheny Landing and Strip District Riverfront Park. He is also the producer of Riverlife\u2019s annual fundraiser gala \u201cParty at the Pier,\u201d now in its ninth year.<\/p>\n Originally from Denver, Colo., Mr. Bontrager has called Pittsburgh home since 2001. \u00a0He received his Bachelor of Communication degree from Goshen College in northern Indiana and a Master of Journalism and Mass Communication degree from Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
